Electron Microscopy – Theory and Application

Electron microscopy is the science of using a focused beam of electrons to investigate atomic composition, bonding, and structure of solid materials. Electron bombardment induces the emission of multiple signals from the specimen – secondary electrons, x-rays, and photons emitted from the sample can be collected, measured, and analyzed to determine physical and chemical properties of the material.
